I have accounts on two different non-algorithmic social media networks (Mastodon and Micro.blog). I also have accounts on some of the algorithmic sites (Facebook, Instagram, and Threads). One of the biggest things I have noticed lately? The algorithm-controlled platforms have far more antisemitism and various ill-informed “hot takes” than those with algorithmic boosting. Which makes one wonder: Is the algorithm just doing its job, there? (Threads is by far the worst, for what it’s worth.)
